Art Newspaper Painting

My learning outcome for this assessment is to have a clean and even coat of paint making my painting look smooth and keeping the words from seeking through.

For this painting, I decided to use 2 colors, white and red. I mainly used white around the whole painting, and just a hint of red making it pop out more. Having more white around the painting makes it look better and doesn't really overcome the red. But painting white over words is hard as the words usually seep through so I have to put a lot more paint and make it thick. My next step is to clean up the edges of the painting and use a fine brush to paint around the words to make sure I don't paint over it and that it looks clean. and once I'm done and the painting is dry, I will make patterns on it to make it look more pleasing.

  1. Kia ora Ryan, can you reset the permissions of your photo, as it is not coming up.

Think about pattern from all of your cultures. Also make sure you are using leading lines with pattern towards a focal point that you have already decided upon. the best way to do this is to now generate some thumbnail sketches of your work so far and draw additional patterns over the top. then you should have a plan! Have a go at this for Tuesday. See you Wednesday.
